Deza Estates consists of a few blocks of completely unique midcentury modern homes in Northglenn and enveloped by more traditional architecture. Deza Estates is part of the City of Northglenn, is bordered very closely by Thornton and Federal Heights, and is just three miles north of Denver
The Northglenn Historic Commission is currently committed to tracking down the stories, records, and other documentation related to the origins of Deza Estates. We know that the homes are special. They are indicative of the style referred to as "California Contemporary", "Danish Modern", and "Midcentury Modern" developed and made famous by well-known architects like Cliff May and Joseph Eichler. We also know that more typical developments from this period featured several variations on 4 or 5 basic home models, which was an approach to suburban neighborhood development typical of the time period. In Deza Estates, however, each home is completely unique and designed from the ground up. |
